Salome Buchukuri was born 26/8/1996 in Tbilisi Georgia. She started playing the violin at the age of 7 with her mother, who is also a violinist. At the age of 12 she went to an experimental musical school of Pallini. Growing up she got accepted in the National Greek Radio/T.v. Youth Orchestra and later on at the Camerata Junior Orchestra from the Friends of Music Organization of the Athens Concert Hall, where she played for many years participating in various concerts, masterclasses and festivals. She also played with the Greek -Turkish Youth Orchestra for two years. She got her degree at 17 and started lessons with Dimitris Semsis, with whom she took her diploma.
She also got accepted in the Athens State Orchestra’s Academy scholarship program and had masterclasses with Christoph Poppen and Tianwa Yang as well as participating in many concerts under them. In addition she has played with and participated in various projects of the period instrument Camerata Armonia Atenea as well as Athens Philarmonia Orchestra and Athens State Orchestra. She is currently studying at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague.
