1st violin

Jana Vukicevic is a violinist with unrestrainable energy, enthusiasm and passion, who learnt and is still learning and developing the ability to direct these qualities into music. From the age of 11, she has started to earn first prizes on republic and international competitions (in Serbia, Slovenia, Italy, Luxembourg, etc.)for solo playing. Apart from that, she has also expressed a lot of interest in chamber music and orchestra. With several ensembles (string quartets, duos, trios, quintets) she went on republic competitions and different masterclasses, and showed the ability of being a very flexible, engaged and reliable player, whom many find it easy to work with in a team. During the years of her studies in the Netherlands, she has also shown the ability of being a good leader and concert master of symphony or chamber orchestra at her University, as well as an assistant concertmaster in the NationaalJeugdorkest. She has had the opportunity of having many recitals during the years of her primary and high school, as well as solo performances with orchestras (with ArtLink orchestra for young talents, orchestra of the School for young talents in Cuprija, with the National army orchestra in Serbia).

She showed enthusiasm for applying for all sorts of masterclasses, festivals and orchestras. The most important ones for her to mention would be Verbier Festival (member of the junior orchestra), Musica Mundi Festival, Chieti Classica Festival, masterclasses on Sardegna (where she worked with great artists such as Roman Simovic, Gordan Nikolic, Stefan Milenkovic, Ivry Gitlis and Alena Baeva) and Nationaal Jeugdorkest (member of the orchestra since 2022). In September 2022 she has also had an opportunity to play on the masterclass of Maxim Vengerov, which was held in the big hall of De Doelen in Rotterdam. She was one of the lucky students of Codarts University who got to be chosen to play for this extraordinary musician. Currently, she is in the third year of Bachelor studies in Rotterdam and finding her next steps for the educational development and building of the future career.
