The mission of the Reisorkest Arnhem is to bring classical Western music that comes into contact with music from various cultures and music genres, giving young professional musicians and new talents a chance and reaching towards a very wide audience with its colorful and accessible program.
The ReisOrkest is an orchestra that always goes for the adventure. Every concert program is a search for new and surprising musical atmosphere, colors, combinations. Music that shows very strong emotions, that tries to touch people from different cultures.
The ReisOrkest Arnhem makes a musical story journey on various concert stages in the country, which started March 26 in Arnhem. 29 October we play in the Deventer Schouwburg, and in spring 2024 at various concertpodia like Arnhem and Amsterdam.
The orchestra’s repertoire consists of existing classical music pieces with influences from world music such as Asturias by Isaac Albeniz, Arabian Dance by Tsjaikovski, Bartoks Romanian Folk Dances and so on.
On top of that we are playing unknown compositions from various countries, seldom to be heard in Europe. You will also hear new compositions, especially written for the orchestra. All combined with folk arrangements from dances and popular instrumental pieces from various cultures, like Turkish, Armenian, Spanish and Jewish.
In short: music that touches the heart of everyone all over the world!
The ReisOrkest tries to develop a new musical language, to build a new repertoire and to offer it to the music world.
The orchestra is founded by Nermin Cingöz, conducted by conductor Kanako Abe and is under the artistic direction of composer Selim Doğru.
For the ReisOrkest Arnhem we have chosen a group of professional musicians (+ changing soloists), a conductor and a team with different cultural backgrounds. We have experienced for 40 years for this to be always an enrichment.
With this orchestra we can make the difference to invite a wider audience with diverse backgrounds to the concert halls.
An orchestra born from the experiences by El Ele cannot do without the students of El Ele and their family and supporters.
At each concert, young apprentice talents will shine on stage, alongside the group of professionals. Playing in a (symphony) orchestra is not a dream for them at that moment, they will be in the middle of it.
In other cities where the ReisOrkest plays, we will organize a similar collaboration with young musical talents.
The El Ele dance and music school was born in Arnhem. We have been able to do a lot for and with Arnhem over the past 40 years. Of course there are our regular weekly lessons for children and young people.
In addition, we initiate various one-off and annually recurring music projects, such as the Classical Music Week Presikhaaf. The school will also be a connecting force for the ReisOrkest from Arnhem, in the beautiful Presikhaaf district.
